This Figaro chain is made in 10K yellow gold. A Figaro chain alternates short flat links with one longer link, a rhythm that originated in Italy. At 4.5 mm it has presence on its own and does not need a pendant. Its construction is solid, meaning gold all the way through each link rather than a hollow tube, so it keeps its shape and can be repaired. Available in 20″, 22″, 24″. As a guide, at 20″ it lands on the upper chest; at 22″ it rests mid-chest; at 24″ it sits lower on the chest and over clothing.
10K gold is 41.7% pure gold, alloyed with stronger metals, which makes it harder-wearing and more resistant to scratches than higher karats. It works on its own or as the base of a layered set.
