How to choose a bracelet
Fit first. Measure your wrist snugly and add about half an inch to an inch, depending on how loose you like it. Chain bracelets can be a little looser; tennis bracelets should sit close so the stones don't twist.
Then the type. Chain bracelets in rope, figaro, Cuban or paperclip links are everyday pieces. Tennis bracelets carry a continuous line of lab-grown diamonds. Bangles and cuffs are rigid: slip-on bangles are sized to the hand, hinged bangles and cuffs to the wrist. Adjustable sliding-bead bracelets fit most wrists.
Then the clasp. A lobster clasp is easiest to use one-handed; a box clasp with a figure-eight safety is the most secure for diamonds.
How should a bracelet fit?
Loose enough to slide a finger under, snug enough not to slide over the hand.
What is the most secure bracelet clasp?
A box clasp backed by a figure-eight safety catch; a lobster clasp for chain bracelets.
Is a solid gold bracelet worth it?
Bracelets take more knocks than any other jewelry, so solid gold is the durable choice for daily wear.
