Checked by
someone else.
A diamond’s description should be checkable by someone other than the seller. That is what a grading certificate does, and every piece set with Peelerie lab-grown diamonds ships with one.

What a grading certificate is
A grading certificate, or report, is issued by a gemological laboratory that examines the diamond and records its characteristics. The best-known laboratories include the International Gemological Institute (IGI) and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA), both of which grade lab-grown diamonds and identify them as laboratory-grown on the report.
What it records
| Carat weight | Recorded to the hundredth of a carat |
| Measurements | The stone’s dimensions in millimeters |
| Cut and proportions | For round brilliants, a cut grade; for all shapes, polish and symmetry |
| Color | A letter grade on the D-to-Z scale |
| Clarity | A grade from Flawless to Included, often with a plotted diagram |
| Origin | Identification as laboratory-grown, and often the growth method |
For jewelry set with many small diamonds, such as tennis bracelets, the report describes the diamonds in the piece together: their total weight and their color and clarity range.

Linking the stone to the paper
Larger individually graded diamonds usually carry their report number laser-inscribed on the girdle, the thin outer edge of the stone, visible under magnification. It ties the stone to its document.
Keep it with the piece
Please keep your certificate safe; it supports insurance, resale and any future service. If you return a piece, include its certificate.
